What Saferwager is

Saferwager is an independent transparency database for UK-licensed gambling operators. We collect, cross-reference, and publish data from official public registers so that anyone can verify an operator's licence status, corporate ownership, director history, and regulatory track record from a single page.

The project exists because this information, while technically public, is spread across multiple government sources that were never designed to work together. The UK Gambling Commission publishes licence data. Companies House holds corporate filings. Neither links to the other. If you want the complete picture on any given operator, you are currently left to piece it together yourself.

We do that work once so that nobody else has to do it again.

What Saferwager is not

We are not an affiliate site. We do not recommend gambling operators, rank them, or accept any form of payment from the entities we cover. There are no "best casino" lists here. There are no promotional links. We have no commercial relationships with any licensed operator, and we never will.

We are also not a gambling guide. Saferwager does not explain how to gamble, suggest where to gamble, or encourage gambling in any form. Our focus is transparency and accountability within the licensed industry.

If you are experiencing difficulties with gambling, the GambleAware helpline is available around the clock on 0808 8020 133.

Our principles

Independence

We are funded privately and do not accept sponsorship, advertising, or payment from any gambling operator. Our assessments are based entirely on public record data.

Accuracy

Every data point on Saferwager is sourced from an official register and cited accordingly. Where data is unavailable or uncertain, we say so clearly rather than guess.

Public interest

Gambling regulation exists to protect the public. The data that underpins it should be accessible to the public. We make it so.

Verifiability

We show our sources. Every piece of information links back to the original register, filing, or regulatory decision it came from. You should never have to take our word for it.

The team

Saferwager is built by a small team in London with backgrounds in gambling compliance, public policy research, corporate investigations, and regulatory technology. We started this project after repeatedly running into the same problem: basic questions about UK gambling operators were unreasonably difficult to answer using existing public sources.

We are not affiliated with the UK Gambling Commission, any government body, or any organisation within the gambling industry. Saferwager is a private, independently operated project.
